Desk, money and staff
The front desk keeps working, and the money is tighter
- The front desk keeps working through an internet or power outage. Saved screens stay readable, and check-in, checkout, room status and walk-ins are kept on the device and sent when the connection returns.
- A summary of yesterday is emailed every morning at 7, hotel time, to admins and managers. It is on every plan.
- You choose whether guests must pay before check-in: nothing, the first night or the full stay. Going past it needs a manager's permission and a reason.
- A guest who has paid nothing and has no bill yet now shows as owing the booking total at checkout, not as owing nothing.
- Guests can be moved to a better or cheaper room type. An upgrade charges only the gap, so they keep the rate they booked, and a manager can give it free with a reason.
- When a booking's dates change, the nights the guest already had keep their price, and added nights are at today's price.
- Two new room states: house use, which takes a room off sale, and out of service, which stays on sale but is never given to a guest.
- Managers can invite and look after the people below them, at their own hotels, with permissions written in plain words. Nobody can change their own access.
- Guests are emailed their confirmation when a payment link, or a payment recorded at the desk, confirms their booking.
